About the Presenters
Tara Shores received her associate’s degree in nursing from Penn Valley and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Western Governors University, where she is now preparing to graduate with an MBA in healthcare management. She has 16 years of experience as a registered nurse. Her background is in primary care, PACU and cardiology. Her most recent role was the ACHD Program Manager at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she helps co-manage their ACHA ACHD accredited program. Tara has helped develop a robust transition program and serves as a member of the hospital transition committee and the hospital cardiac Patient Family Advisory Council.
Nicole Antonville received her master’s degree in nursing from UCLA and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She started her nursing career in the adult cardiac observation unit and cardiac critical care unit at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where her interest in ACHD began. She was eager to accept the new position of the Transition Nurse Coordinator with UCLA’s ACHD program. Nicole and Dr. Leigh Reardon have created a transition program called SHIFT (Supporting Health Independence for Families Transitioning) as a bridge for the UCLA Children’s Heart Center and ACHD Center.
