Take Action Today on CHFRA

Fund Congenital Heart Disease Research, Data Collection, and Workforce Development

Last November, the Congenital Heart Futures Reauthorization Act of 2024 (CHFRA) was signed into law. Now Congress must fund the legislation for fiscal year 2026 so that vital CHD research and surveillance programs can continue, and Congress can receive the critical information they need to evaluate the shortage of qualified specialists serving congenital heart disease (CHD) patients. We ask Congress to appropriate $10 million in funding to ensure continued medical progress and support for the 2-3 million Americans living with a congenital heart condition.

In these uncertain and changing times, it is more critical than ever that our collective voices be heard as we stand up for the needs of the CHD community.

Ask your Members of Congress to fund programs authorized under the Congenital Heart Futures Reauthorization Act of 2024

Use the Adult Congenital Heart Association's convenient, pre-drafted letter to ask your Members of Congress to provide the funding to fully implement the Congenital Heart Futures Reauthorization Act of 2024 (Public Law 118-107). CHFRA authorizes lifesaving CHD research and surveillance programs at the CDC and will help address the workforce shortages impacting the CHD care community by requiring the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to convene experts to develop recommended solutions to Congress.

The pre-drafted letter will appear after providing your contact information. You may personalize your letter in the paragraph starting “As a member of the congenital heart disease community.” The system will automatically insert the name of your elected official and their title at the top of your letter.
