To get you started, here's an example from Ruth Phillippi, ACHA Education and Outreach Manager: Let me share a picture of my memento, Goodbear (above). For whatever reason, he was the one stuffed animal that came with me on all my hospital trips and was waiting for me every time I got out of surgery. He came with me when I went to college, to study in France, and to graduate school. My old cat loved him, too! There’s something about that balding bear that continues to lift my spirits and remind me that even in the midst of pain, fear, and disappointment, so much good has followed me throughout life.
